As we reach the end of July, there is still plenty of time to be outside enjoying the summer. Here’s a new way to “gather around the hearth” with family and friends.
Disclosure: We’ll get a small commission if you buy through the links in this post: Please do! When I saw the Blaze Tower Kit, it was love at first sight. A fire pit, a grill and smoker all rolled into one! Made of 3/16″ thick American steel, the Blaze includes a thermometer for getting the perfect cooking temperature, a hanger for smoking meats and screens if you just want to sit back, relax and be mesmerized by the fire.If you have a few clear square feet to set the unit up (it takes two people to assemble the Blaze), then it really doesn’t matter if you are sitting water side, mountain side or in a small backyard with your nosey neighbors looking over the fence -because you will have your very own private outdoor fire pit. While my cooking skills over an open fire are pretty much limited to potatoes wrapped in foil, hot dogs and marshmallows (I love it when they go up in a ball of fire and you wait till every inch is covered in black), I can’t help but think that this multi purpose unit might inspire me to try something really daring like double stuffed baked potatoes or anything smoked.
If you are serious about the outdoors and spending time with your loved ones or best buds, then give this unit a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed..
The other day we had a little bit of a temperature drop and when I came home Kathy suggested we build a fire. Say no more. I gathered some wood and we got the wood stove “fired” up. Now, not everyone has a fireplace but if you want the ambiance that comes with a burning flame and want something that you can burn indoors then check out Terra Flame Home.
The company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, proudly claims that the fireplaces are made and the material sourced in the USA. What is great about these fire places is that they use a clean burning fuel called Sun Gel so you can operate the unit in the middle of winter with the house braced against the cold. One of my favorite models is part of the Firetable collection, above. What is great is the variety of finishes you can choose from so you can find something that will work with your decor.Terra Flame home offers a number of different collections, The IPE is part of the outdoor collection.
We told you a while back about artist Rick Wittig, who bought a cheap fire pit from a big-box retailer and was rather peeved when it fell apart and set his yard on fire. He thought he could make a better one himself – so he did, out of heavy, durable steel.
With autumn in the air (and more great designs from Wittig now available) we thought it was the perfect time to revisit these beautiful creations. Each unique fire pit is individually numbered by the artist on an attached brass plaque.
Fleur de Lis Fire Pit and Steel Spark Guard: The Fleur de Lis was the symbol of the French Monarchy and this design gives an added elegance to the welded carbon steel construction and weatherproof iron oxide patina.
The American-Made Saturn Fire Pit and Steel Spark Guard was named for the ring shape around its lip. This design offers beautiful simplicity.
The American-Made, Handcrafted Asia Outdoor Fire Pit with Steel Spark Guard adds eastern flair to your yard or patio.
Globe Firepit: A beautiful depiction of our planet encases your evening fire in this wonderful creation by artist Rick Wittig.
The Manta Ray Firepit: This design was named for the way its swooping shapes resembles the movement of a manta ray.
Barefoot Beach Seashells And Starfish Fire Pit: Images of summer on the beach will linger when you have a fall fire with this beautiful fire pit.
The Lowboy fire pit is for those who prefer a minimalist design.
Scallop Fire Pit: The gently scalloped edges on this fire pit make for a soothing design.
Don’t forget to get some sturdy outdoor fire pit tools, like this Amish-Made set.
